Goodbye and Thank You!

So I have to say this is the end of Shelf of Melanie. 😦 I’m gutted to leave. I love blogging, I love chatting with followers and other bloggers, and of course I love the books that come with book blogging!

I know I’ve barely been around five months, but life has become somewhat stressful and I have to focus on the bigger things. If things were going to plan, I’d keep the blog. Sadly, that isn’t the case.

I want to say thank you to everyone who’s looked at the blog, read a post, commented, subscribed, tweeted me or shared a link to the blog. It mattered. It still matters. Thank you.

I also want to say thank you to Netgalley, Bookbridgr and Goodreads and the subsequent authors and publishers, as they are the websites and people who have given me books to review. They took a chance on a new, small blog and I’ll always be grateful for that.

I won’t drag this out, because I want to keep blogging but can’t and I’m sad about it. Maybe one day I’ll get to a place where I can blog again.

I’ll still be around the web; Pinterest, Goodreads, Twitter. If you add me on any of them (if you haven’t already), do let me know you’re a follower from here. I’ll still be reviewing books on Goodreads and the links to those reviews will appear on my Twitter as they’re posted.  It’ll look like this:

I’ll also be posting Library Trip photos, which will look like this:

Thank you.

Rest-of-the-Year Releases I’m Drooling Over!

Pennyroyal Academy

Damsel Distressed

[Abhorsen #4] Technically a prequel but it’s book four in the series.

Legacy of the Claw [Animas #1]

The Accidental Highwayman: Being the Tale of Kit Bristol, His Horse Midnight, a Mysterious Princess, and Sundry Magical Persons Besides

Waistcoats and Weaponry [Finishing School #3]

The third in Gail Carriger’s Finishing School Quartet (final book out November 2015).

The Bane Chronicles

The ten Magnus Bane (of Infernal Devices trilogy and Mortal Instruments series fame) stories previously only available as ebooks, in physical book form!

There isn’t anything I know of yet, releasing in December that I’m excited about.

September Releases I’m Drooling Over!

September is the month of many releases!

Trial by Fire

    The Scavengers

Words and Their Meanings

The Iron Trial

    Falling Into Place

Dragons at Crumbling Castle (A preview story was released August 7th: The Abominable Snowman. I think this is one of the story’s contained within the full book, but I’m not sure. Sadly, the preview short story isn’t free.) If you happen to know who the cover artist is please let me know! It looks a lot like Roald Dahl’s books so I’m hoping it is Quentin Blake!)

I’ll Give You the Sun

(This one’s being promoted as Sherlock meets Dr Who. I’m not a major fan of either, but this still looks good. And the cover is such an awesome shade of blue!)

Skink No Surrender [Skink #7] My Review here

The Scandalous Sisterhood of Prickwillow Place

A boarding school murder mystery!

More Fool Me

The third volume in Stephen Fry’s memoir series (I think). #stephenfryfangirl

The tale of a young woman writing and publishing her first novel. It includes a lot of details about the publishing process apparently, so that is the biggest draw for me. It also includes the book the main character is writing which is a paranormal thriller. And it’s Scott Westerfeld, author of the Peeps duology! [Parasite Positive and Last Days].

Lies We Tell Ourselves

This is about a white girl and a black girl falling in love in the middle of the racial segregation in 1959, America. I’ve read a sample and it is BRUTAL.

I wasn’t sold on this until I read the sample. Now I want it badly!

A Nutcracker retelling.
